International Artist Bursary 2023 Winner!
We are delighted to announce that on Monday 16th January Mary Feliciano was randomly selected as the winner of our inaugural International Artist Bursary!
Mary's name was picked out of a hat by a member of the audience at the Artist Forum event. Mary is a North Ken resident dancer, choreographer and video artist. She says;
"I’m interested in using my art to showcase my vision, also give a message of hope and love between humans and our ecosystem, I believe that healthy ways of bringing awareness is what we lack and by giving the audience a chance to reflect on their own behaviors might help to restore societies equilibrium."
Mary will be travelling to Havana, Cuba with local artist Gail Sagman to observe and participate in the work going in at Casa de Artistas y Creadores, creating culture and value from nothing for the benefit of the community. She will record a video diary of her time there, so we're super excited to hear all about her experiences and what we can learn from them.
