Friday 14 June 2024 will mark seven years since the tragic events at Grenfell Tower. As our community pauses to reflect and remember, we want to support  organisations to mark the anniversary in open community events and activities.

1. Financial Support (grants)

Eligibility criteria

Applications for financial support (grants) will be considered for costs relating to marking the anniversary through open community events and/or activities from:

  • Constituted, not for profit groups based in Kensington and Chelsea
  • Un-constituted not for profit community groups based in Kensington and Chelsea

Priority will be given to organisations and groups who are based in the five wards of North Kensington (Colville, Dalgarno, Notting Dale, Golborne and St Helens)

Governance

  • Governance procedures appropriate to the size and scope of the project are in place or arrangements are in place with a sponsor organisation for  unconstituted groups. [NB Safeguarding - DBS checks, public liability insurance etc. where relevant may need to be checked and implemented before any money can be released]
  • Accounts / financial statements appropriate to the size and scope of the project are provided or arrangements are in place with a sponsor organisation for unconstituted groups.

Equality and diversity

  • The area of benefit stated within the proposed activity is within North Kensington.
  • The needs of all groups that could use the resources have been appropriately considered.
  • The proposed activity aims to deliver equity for the community.

Project planning and costs

  • There is a clearly formed budget breakdown of intended activities.
  • Costs are reasonable for the type of activities proposed.
  • We hope that costs will range from £100 to £1,000 per project. We encourage applicants to apply only for the costs they need, however small, and not feel they should apply for the maximum. This will enable us to support as many applications as possible.
  • Applications who can demonstrate multiple/alternative streams of funding are encouraged.

Application process
