Alex Russell, who has been the Joint CEO of the Westway Trust since October 2017, has agreed with the Board of Trustees to leave the Trust. Her departure has come at a time when the Trust is going through a fundamental shift in how the organisation operates and is governed.
The last three years have been an extremely challenging time for staff and trustees and now moving into a new era, the Board of Trustees believe that overcoming the challenges and entering into new possibilities will require a fresh approach. Alex left the Trust at the end of July and leaves the organisation in the hands of a Board that is truly community led.
Since the start of the year the Trust has been led by a new Chair Toby Laurent Belson, an active member of the local community, and new members from the local community have also joined the Board.
The Board would like to thank Alex for her contribution whilst working with the Trust and to wish her the best for her future endeavours.
