It has recently been brought to our attention that Everyone Active, the company who operates the sports facilities under the Westway, has allowed filming to take place on the sports facilities during the national Covid lockdown.
Everyone Active has issued a statement to our community, which explains the rationale for their decision and to assure local residents that all activities are in line with current government guidelines.
Nevertheless, we understand that this decision by Everyone Active has caused distress to members of our community who have been unable to use the facilities themselves for a period of time.
Westway Trust thanks Everyone Active for clarifying the rationale for their current approach to managing this space. We at the Trust stand in solidarity with our community, and share their frustration. Westway Trust have been, and will continue to actively pursue solutions that properly reflect our communities' needs - solutions that account for both social distancing requirements but also acknowledge the health and wellbeing implications of ongoing restrictions to outdoor space for our community at this time.
