The Westway Arts Network connects local artists, arts and cultural organisations and venues, and enables local people to be at the heart of decision making about how the Trust supports arts and culture in our area. It’s an open network for anyone aged 16 plus living, working or studying locally with an interest in arts and culture.
Network members receive invites to free social and networking events, creative workshops and talks by guest speakers. The content of these are shaped by members’ interests and suggestions. We post info about creative events and opportunities on the W.A.N. facebook group – as well as by emailing members.
Network members are invited to take part in groups and panels to advise and make decisions on how the Westway Trust invests in arts and culture. Current groups are focusing on the development of the Portobello Arts Space, awarding funding from the Festivals Fund, and programming our new youth-led Portobello Summer Festival (for members aged 16-24 only).
