Festivals and events play a vital role in the cultural make-up of North Kensington. They have an ability to reach people who might not otherwise experience the arts and they are a platform for demonstrating the richness of culture in the area.
The Festivals & Events Fund supports high-quality activity that brings diverse people together, increases profile and maximises economic benefit in North Kensington. We support single artforms (music, theatre, dance, poetry and literature, visual arts) or a combination of artforms. This includes both new and established festivals and events that develop new ideas and audiences, and nurture the next generation of artists.
We welcome artists and partnerships from outside the borough, as long as there are clear benefits to audiences or participants North Kensington. We also welcome events that connect to national and international awareness days and celebrations.
*A festival is defined as a series of events (or a single event with several elements) with a common theme and delivered within a defined time period.
