Individual Volunteering with our Gardeners

If you are interested in helping wildlife thrive in our urban environment, then our Gardening projects are for you.

John Broadbent gardening with volunteer

Its all about connecting communities to nature, by gardening for nature and wildlife, for food, and for mental, physical and emotional health. We do this through Postcode Gardening projects in Notting Dale Ward.

We provide the tools, materials, plants and PPE. You bring local knowledge about streets and sites in Notting Dale that need rescuing with some green love and attention and an enthusiasm for wildlife friendly gardening. We’re not looking for experts, but for people with a passion to share their love of nature and growing with one another.

Notting Dale ward is one of the most nature-deprived places in the country. We all want to live on healthier greener streets and estates, so doing whatever we can to connect with one another and nature, helps us all thrive.

You and your neighbours could be sowing a wildflower meadow in your estate lawn, building bug hotels, growing edibles for sharing and pollinator-friendly flowers for containers, beds and gardens, or taking part in biodiversity monitoring. Here’s some examples of the projects that Postcode Volunteers have achieved so far.
