This event marks the official launch of the Anti-Tribalism Movement’s (ATM) report into Land Governance and Asset Management in RBKC. This research provides the evidence base needed to secure more equitable access to our local community spaces.
In 2024, ATM was one of the first recipients of our Transformation Grants programme. This grant supported their mission to tackle the shortage of affordable and accessible spaces in RBKC, such as those needed for enterprise, community gatherings, and cultural events, particularly for Black and minority communities. Their aim was to improve access to assets and influence policies that promote racial, social, and economic justice through community ownership and stewardship.
ATM is now proactively working with RBKC as the Council develops its Asset Strategy for the future, with an emphasis on the role of voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations. They are advocating for the strategy to reflect the aspirations of this project and in particular to ensure that Equality and Diversity assessments are carried out when allocating or transferring community assets.
