Learn about the cultural history and meaning behind certain types of jewellery and their design.
2D and 3D sketches and drawing.
Piercing – sawblade techniques, wire wrapping techniques.
Adding texture to metal.
Smoothing and filing.
Ear hooks and beading.
Be able to sketch creative designs for jewellery.
Be able to use tools safely and efficiently.
Produce up to 3 items of wearable jewellery.
Be able to use polishing and finishing techniques.
Understand the cultural significance behind types of jewellery.
Practical sessions and hands-on interactivity. Tactile learning through demonstration, and discussion.
We will provide tools and materials. Bring your curiosity and creativity!
Feedback will be given throughout the sessions. You could consider an accredited jewellery class, and may wish to display your work for exhibition or even sale!
Fees exemption applies if you are in receipt of state benefits, on a low income (under £27,000.07 per year) and have residential status.
