You will focus on when to use present simple, present continuous and past simple. You will practise when to use ‘do’, ‘does’, ‘is’, ‘are’ and ‘did’ in questions and how to say these words.
Yes, you will need to do a pre-course assessment to establish your level of English before enrolling onto the course.
This course is for people new to learning English but who are not complete beginners. It will help anyone who is confused about the key grammar needed to communicate in everyday life.
You will learn in a supportive and welcoming environment. The tutor will help you discover rules and features of English.
You will work in pairs or small groups, and sometimes as a whole class.
Your tutor will also work with you individually. Everything that you learn will help you in your daily life.
You will need to do work outside the classroom.
You will need a pen, some lined A4 paper and a file to keep your work in.
Your tutor will provide handouts and worksheets and let you know if there are any other resources that you might need to get.
By the end of the course you should be able to:
Speak and write about life in general using present simple well.
Speak and write about activities that are taking place now using present continuous well.
Speak and write about past finished events using past simple effectively.
Ask and answer questions about everyday topics happening now, in the past and in general – using ‘do’, ‘does’, ‘did’, ‘is’, ‘are’, ‘am’ correctly.
Use good pronunciation when asking and answering everyday questions.
