Ascentis Level 2 Award in Environmental Sustainability

This qualification is designed to provide learners with an introduction to the principles of climate change and environmental awareness. It will ensure learners understand the nature of climate change and the role they can play in helping to reduce carbon emissions. Through achieving the qualification, learners will gain the knowledge and understanding to act as drivers of positive change within the workplace and at home.

However, you should have a genuine interest in this subject.

What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?

This Level 2 course is suitable for anyone who wishes to gain better insight into the principles of climate change and environmental awareness. 

You will require good literacy and IT skills. 

Please note: You must be 19+ to apply for this course. 

What will I cover on the course?

To be awarded the Ascentis Level 2  Ascentis Level 2 Award in Environmental Sustainability  you will complete the following units: 

• Understand basic concepts in sustainability.  
• Understand the importance of natural resources.  
• Understand the global environmental impacts of agriculture and industry and how they might be reduced.  
• Understand the benefit of sustainable communities.  

How will I be taught and assessed? Will there be any work outside the class?

To be awarded this qualification, learners are required to successfully achieve all 4 mandatory units. 

This course is completed via distance learning with the support of a qualified tutor who will provide a supported delivery approach and advice until all the units are completed.

Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?

You will require a reliable internet connection and use of a device.  

A smartphone is not always compatible. 

What will I achieve?

By the end of the course you should be able to:

• Understand the basics of climate change science and how we know it’s a problem. 
• Have explored how climate change is impacting us all now and how it will in the future. 
• Be able to identify ways that you and your organisation can take action to reduce emissions, benefiting from this in the process. 

On successful completion of this course, learners will receive an Ascentis Level 2 Award in Environmental Sustainability.
