This qualification is designed to provide learners with an understanding of different types of plastics and their uses, as well as how to reduce pollution.

You should have a genuine interest in this subject.

You will require good literacy and IT skills.

You will require a reliable internet connection and use of a device – A smartphone is not always compatible.

How will I be taught and assessed? Will there be any work outside the class?

To be awarded this qualification, learners are required to successfully achieve all 3 mandatory units.

This course is completed via distance learning with the support of a qualified tutor who will provide supported delivery approach and advice until all the units are complete.

Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?

You will need a pen, some lined A4 paper and a file to keep your work in.

Your tutor will provide handouts and worksheets and let you know if there are any other resources that you might need to get.

What will I achieve?

By the end of the course you should be able to understand:

  • Different types of plastics and their uses.
  • How to dispose of plastics.
  • How plastics affect marine environments.
  • How plastics pollution can be reduced.

On successful completion of this course, learners will receive an Ascentis Level 1 Award in Preventing Plastic Pollution
