Our Charity Objective
To relieve the poverty and advance the education of the public, particularly Eritrean refugees in London and to provide recreational facilities for those who have in need of such facilities by reason of their poverty of social and economic circumstances, with the object of improving their conditions of life.
Gheez Rite, The 1st Tigrinya Supplementary School in UK – since 1993, grew out of the needs of several communities who have heritage links to the Horn of Africa. It has operated from several venues in North Kensington. It is now currently housed in the St. Charles Catholic, Sixth Form College, 74 St Charles Square, London, W10 6EY in North Kensington. It operates each Saturday during school term times. The supplementary school runs from 10am-5pm and offers lessons in Tigrinya (Mother Tongue language), Support in English, Maths and Science, Art workshop and Coding/Robotics for children aged between 5 to 16. After the session there are leisure activities, football at Westway Sports Centre from 3pm to 5pm and dance/Zumba activities at St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College from 3pm to 3pm. Celebration events take place at the end of each term and several trips are organised over the year.
