Transformation Grant
£38,000
In the first round of our Transformation Grants programme in 2024, we supported the Anti-Tribalism Movement in their project to tackle the shortage of affordable and accessible spaces in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC). This includes spaces for enterprise, community gatherings, and cultural events, particularly for black and minority communities. Their aim is to improve access to assets and influence policies that promote racial, social, and economic justice through community ownership and stewardship.
The organisation is proactively working with RBKC as the Council develops its Asset Strategy for 2025–2030, with an emphasis on the role of voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations. The Anti-Tribalism Movement are advocating for the strategy to reflect the aspirations of this project and in particular to ensure that Equality and Diversity assessments are carried out when allocating or transferring community assets.
