On the eve of the summer solstice, Westway Trust invited the community to step into an enchanting, theatrical experience beneath the iconic Westway. Tucked between Latimer Sports Centre and Silchester Estate, the serene Blossom Dale Gardens became the stage for A Westway Summer Night’s Dream—a vibrant, immersive reimagining of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Designed to shine a light on one of Westway Trust’s hidden green gems, the event transformed the garden into a whimsical woodland with live performances, music, and dance. Audiences were treated to an engaging evening featuring an ensemble cast of actors, dancers, a live string quartet, and more. The production brought together creativity, community, and nature in a magical night of storytelling and celebration.
The event was free to attend, with curiosity and imagination being the only requirements for entry. Attendees were also informed of a roaming photographer and videographer capturing the evening for archival purposes.
A Westway Summer Night’s Dream was part of a wider campaign, aiming to highlight the importance of community green spaces and address environmental issues such as air pollution.
