Subsidised Football Pitches

Apply for Subsidised Football Pitches

What is this Subsidised Football Pitch grants programme?

This programme gives community groups in North Kensington access to free or subsidised football pitch hours (5-a-side) through a partnership between Westway Trust and Everyone Active.

Who is eligible to apply?

You can apply if your community group or organisation is based in North Kensington.

What will groups be assessed on?

Applications will be judged on:

  • Diversity of beneficiaries (who the pitch use will reach).
  • The positive social impact that would follow from subsidised pitch use.
  • Your organisation’s track record in delivering community or sports programmes.

What is the maximum pitch time available?

Each organisation may be granted up to 2 hours per week on a 5-a-side pitch.

If you need additional hours or a larger pitch (e.g. 7-a-side, 11-a-side), you would need to arrange and pay for that separately via Everyone Active.

What are “deliverables” and how do they influence the application?

In your application you must propose three deliverables – goals or outcomes tied to your use of the pitch space (for example, increased youth engagement, community cohesion, improving fitness, or reducing social isolation). These deliverables will be used to measure the impact of your pitch-use if your application is successful.

What is the timeframe for the subsidised pitch allocation?

The subsidised period covers 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027.

When was the application period, and when were the decisions made?

Applications opened: 10am, Monday 2 February 2026

Applications closed: 10am, Friday 27 February 2026

Panel review date: Tuesday 10 March 2026

Expected Outcome notifications: Approx Monday 16 March 2026

What happens if demand is high?

As many groups apply for our grants, Westway recognises it may not be possible to grant all requests.

Your application should include strong evidence and detail to help the panel make a decision. They explicitly state that only the information you provide will be considered, so be thorough in your submission.

What if we want a pitch size or times beyond 5-a-side or more hours?

You may purchase extra hours or a larger pitch directly from Everyone Active (beyond what the subsidised scheme covers).

Can I ask questions or get help with my application?

Yes. You can contact the Westway Trust Grants Team at grants@westway.org if you have questions or require assistance.

Please note, our grants review panel considers only the information contained in your application. Please ensure you provide as much information in your application you feel is necessary for the panel to reach an informed decision.

Due to the popularity and high demand from community groups for football pitches, we strongly encourage early applications.

The maximum that can be granted will be two hours of pitch time per organisation, on a 5-a-side pitch, once a week. Additional hours, or a larger pitch size, may be purchased directly from Everyone Active.

If you are reapplying for football pitch space, please note your application may not be considered if you did not complete the Westway Trust's Community Investment Impact Reporting Form sent to you.
