We’re proud to be a partner in the North Kensington community. We want to enable others to thrive and, in turn, enable the community, economy, environment and culture of North Kensington to thrive.

North Kensington is a special place for those who live, work and visit here. The strong sense of community, identity and heritage is obvious to all, and a source of great local pride.

It is the role of Westway Trust to support North Kensington in its drive to create its own bright future and to this end we make community investments, support local businesses and not-for-profit activity, organise and support arts and culture events, provide adult learning services and underpin supplementary school provision.

Here, we celebrate the achievements of different groups in the area, hearing from some of the people who live and work in North Kensington, and illustrates some of the work we have got involved with in the past year.

We’ve asked a handful of our partners to tell their story…

Trees 4 Grenfell

Just Solutions 123… consulted with Grenfell survivors and community and have their approval to plant trees and develop small memorial gardens that will be tranquil places of remembrance and reflection around the location of the Grenfell Tower. Trees and green spaces will serve to encourage and assist the process of healing. They will stand as symbolic representations of the love and community spirit witnessed on the night of the tragedy and observed throughout the area and much further afield, ever since. North Kensington houses one of the largest motorways in central London, the A40 Westway, which sweeps through the borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Planting trees and creating green spaces will increase the biodiversity of the area and improve air quality and remove toxins from soil. New trees will add colour and variety to the bleak urban landscape. The community gardens and their care will encourage outdoor family orientated activities and instill the importance of nurturing nature so nature nurtures our planet. insert quote from Westway trustees insert quote from Westway trustees insert quote from Westway trustees insert quote from Westway trustees insert quote from Westway trustees Click here for information on upcoming events hosted by Trees for Grenfell Projects: Just Solutions 123… Focus is Health & Wellbeing: Talk Shops; Fun Canal Walk; Community Kitchen Gardening - this is the space we Garden near the Sports centre; Trees4Grenfell - Under the Westway Hope Gardens and Ecology Centre - Maxilla, W10 6SW ...
