Our Arts Forum kicked off 2023 last month where we discussed the fundamental value of art in our personal lives and also to that of our community. We allocated a grant to a local artist from North Kensington to visit Havana, Cuba alongside our Arts Forum convener, Gail Sagman, to be inspired and create. Since the inception of the Arts Forum we have held three meetings and supported two projects that invited direct participation.
To continue our work in growing this forum, we will be commissioning three artworks to be created on the estate as part of our Community Street Project with the aim of animating our estate and to put a spotlight on local talent. Although there are particular sites of interest, we are open to hear suggestions of locations across our estate that could be brought to life through your work.
At this stage, we are inviting expressions of interest from artists based in North Kensington. Be inspired and think big!
Expressions of interest will be open until 14 March. A panel comprised of representatives from our Arts Forum will review all applications and shortlist candidates. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to submit a full application for their proposal before 20 April.
