Sphere Science are running a program of activities with our Supplementary Schools. We started with the Eritrean Parents and Children Association (EPCA), Azza Supplementary School, Baraka Community Association and Gheez Rite Supplementary School.

During spring half term Sphere Science hosted Science Tricks training sessions (Phase 1) with the help of secondary school students from each supplementary school. After the session, the students delivered presentations to 3 small groups (KS2 & KS3) and discussed the science behind the tricks with the audience.

All of the students enjoyed the practical science sessions and had fun learning new skills.

The programme will continue for the rest of the academic year and summer holidays.

  • Phase 2 - Students will be trained to run practical STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) activities with the younger pupils in their supplementary school.
  • Phase 3 - The students will be supported in communicating STEM during a family day event.
  • Phase 4 - Sphere Science will support small groups of students to develop their understanding of more complex science subjects and encourage the students to present those topics to their peers.
  • Phase 5 - Students will meet engineers with different backgrounds and career paths at an event.

We look forward to the rest of the activities during this programme.
