After a few years off, the Learners' Newsletter is back and bigger than ever!
We will be collecting stories and articles from Learners across Westway Trust, and sharing them in our very own magazine. The first issue will be published in March 2023, with one issue released per term after that.
So if you've got a journalistic urge or you want to improve your writing, then come and join us! The Learners' Newsletter has always been written for learners', by learners' and we want to hear what you have to say. Perhaps you want to write a recipe for our recipes page? Or you want to interview someone you know? Perhaps you've taken some amazing photos you'd like to share? Or been on a trip with your class that we should all know about? Maybe you've written a crossword puzzle that you think we should all do?
Whatever it is, we want to hear about it! We'll be taking stories and submissions from learners and teachers or all ages, including the Supplementary Schools, ESOL classes, Creative Courses, Creche, and our Grounds and Gardens Volunteers.
Send us your ideas in by filling in the forms for an article submission or an artwork submission, or by e-mailing them to newsletter@westway.org. If you want to be included in the first issue, then the deadline for submissions is midday on Wednesday March 15th.
But, of course, it wouldn't be a new start without a new name! We are also running a competition to find a new name for the newsletter, which is open to all of our learners. For more info, or to submit an entry and be in with a chance of winning a £30 shopping voucher, click here.
