When it comes to developing our staff, we focus on the individual, developing our staff so that they in turn can deliver excellent service for the organisation.

 

Induction & Probation

All new employees have a full job-specific induction alongside a 6 month probationary period to ensure they are trained, supported and fully integrated into the organisation.

 

Training Programme

The Trusts training programme is reviewed annually to meet the needs of the organisation and to focus on individual needs.  The programme typically includes management and leadership courses, time management, conflict resolution, first aid, child protection and project management courses.

 

In addition to training courses, we use a number of learning and development tools including coaching, shadowing, reading, project work and attendance at relevant conferences and events which will help staff improve their skills and knowledge.

 

Where learning needs cannot be addressed internally, external training courses, coaches or consultants are also used to provide whatever specialist skills or development is required.

 

Appraisal and Development Process

Twice a year we have an in-depth look at staff progress, and evaluate development opportunities so that we can ensure individuals are able to deliver their best.
