At Portobello Green Fitness Club
We try to offer whatever schools want - whether it involves students visiting the Club or Club staff visiting the school or college. For single sex schools we can even offer dedicated chaging facilities for your school group! We can provide a huge range of other services from organised fitness sessions (including yoga, capoeira and dance (as well as machine-based training) to events such as sports days or health talks. All our staff are trained in community fitnes and disability and accessability issues and the Club is part of the national Inclusive Fitness Initiative.
One-off talks can cover
a range of issues from nutrition and the benefits of exercise, to introductions to career opportunities in the leisure and fitness industry. For details of any activity you require or to discuss how we can help your school Contact Warren Albrecht by clicking here.
Grove Fitness for Under-18's
We also organise after-school activities, such as exercise classes, sports, dance, gymnastics etc. Activities take place either in the school
or at the Club. Larger scale activities are often run by our staff at the school.
Events involving several schools - or open to all - are also organised from time to time - For details about Grove Fitness or any activity you require as an individual, school or youth organisationContact Warren Albrecht by clicking here
Grove Fitness for Under-18's
We have a special programme (and price!) for young people who want to use the club regularly. This is known as Grove Fitness and offers
both organised sessions for under-18s and the opportunity to make use of all the facilities at the Club just like adult members
(but much cheaper!). There is also a Grove Fitness Summer Holiday Programme.
At Westway Sports Centre:
Westway's unique facilities mean we can offer something for any school. There's a huge range of opportunities, from booking facilities, through involvement with our outreach work in local schools (involving up to a thousand children a week), to tailor-made courses, programmes and events at the Sports Centre. This includes packages of activities to last a whole day, half-day, etc.
We can also organise events for children with special needs and actively encourage such enquiries. We are experienced in working with a range of special needs and the centre has been designed with this in mind.
There are a range of differing prices for schools according to whether they are in our charitable benefit area or not but we offer good value to all. And due to facilities such as the climbing centre and clay courts we receive bookings from schools across the region, in addition to regular usage from local schools with which we work with closely, week in, week out.
