Westway Sports Centre is situated under the Westway flyover and has been developed over 30 years in stages, the most recent of which was a £10 million expansion in 2001.
The Centre's activities are divided into four main sports departments; climbing, tennis, football and Handball Fives. The Centre also offers netball, basketball, hockey, Street 20 Cricket, horse riding, Frutina swim centre, as well as an onsite Crussh juice bar, Urban Rock retail shop and a visitors’ car park. A rich and varied programme of events takes place at the Centre.
The Centre offers comprehensive development programmes in football, climbing, tennis and fives for young people aged between 5 and 18 years. These programmes aim to offer a fun experience to those new to sport and to encourage regular participation with a view to improving young people’s skills, potentially to a very high level.
