Stable Way

This industrial area is located at the White City (Western) end of the estate. It comprises of units, lock-ups and yards ranging in size from 600 sq ft to 2,200 sq ft. Current tenants include vehicle repairers, furniture restorers and a stables riding area.

Westway Stables

Westway Stables and the riding arena situated on Stable Way  is where children and adults can learn to ride and appreciate horses. Westway stables is independently run and is not part of Westway Development Trust.

The impressive Westway Sports Centre is next to the riding arena. Not only does the Sports Centre boast Britain’s largest indoor climbing centre, but also eight indoor acrylic and four outdoor clay tennis courts, plus five training and one full size football pitch. There is also a netball court, basketball court, gym with wheelchair accessible equipment, Crussh café and Urban Rock sports shop. The site also hosts flow-pool swimming through the on-site Frutina Swim Centre.

Maxilla Walk

This area includes shops, Maxilla Social Club and Bramleys Big Adventure. Further east along Maxilla Walk is the Maxilla Children’s Centre and Nursery School and a RBKC-owned Youth Training Centre.

Malton Road

Malton Road consists of eight light industrial units. The units range in size from 3,150 sq ft to 10,250 sq ft. Currently our tenants include Nu-Line Builders Merchants, a two car repair garage and a card manufacturing company.

Thorpe Close

Thorpe Close comprises 35 offices, which are home to 22 charities and seven commercial businesses. The charity offices on Thorpe Close are leased to registered charities whose work benefits the Kensington and Chelsea area.

In the middle of Thorpe Close is the Portobello Green Fitness Club where facilities include squash courts, a large cardio and resistance gym, separate free weights gym, two studios offering a wide range of fitness classes, beauty treatment rooms, acupuncture and a sports injury clinic.

Portobello Green Arcade

At the junction of Thorpe Close and Portobello Road is the trendy Portobello Green Arcade. There are 25 retail units which accommodate fashion designers, jewelers, home furnishings and two cafes. Most of the businesses make their own goods onsite, though some have now expanded with manufacturing facilities elsewhere including at our own Acklam Workspace. Portobello Road Market

Thorpe Close and Acklam also host markets four days a week. Every Thursday the artisan and organic food markets take place under the Market Tent. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays the famous and ever-popular Portobello Road markets run under the attractively designed Market Tent and on to Thorpe Close where over 200 stalls sell new fashion, vintage clothes, antiques and collectables. The unique and original items on sale in this area of Portobello have helped to make the market known across the world for fashion as much as for antiques.

Portobello Road shops (Under the Westway Flyover)

Here there are three restaurants; Makan – the Indonesian masters, El Camino – the TexMex masters and a cafe/restaurant alongside a local institution Portobello Wholefoods – the area’s best organic and health food shop. Also on Friday,Saturday and Sunday on Acklam Road, we now have a fine foods Farmers Market selling fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as meat, fish and other speciality foods.

2 Acklam Road

This is now home to Nova New Opportunities, a local voluntary community organisation offering qualifications and training to local people.

Acklam Workspace

There are 28 units in this development at 10 Acklam Road. The units range in size from 250 sq ft to 1,250 sq ft and the spaces are functional and versatile and can be transformed into stylish offices, practical artist studios or light manufacturing units. The current mix of tenants include kitchen designers, marble manufacturers, media/publishers, record producers, sculptors, photographers, fashion designers, an artisan chocolatier and an organic juice company.

12 Acklam Road Nightclub

Formerly known as Neighbourhood and Subterania nightclubs this is now a newly refurbished and up-market venue for Supper Club London.

BaySixty6 Skatepark

Bay 67

This is a large area which is rented out in part as a car park. It can also be used for Unit Base parking.
