Commercial Venue Management Opportunity at the Portobello Green Hub

This is an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial and innovative music and/or arts promoter with an understanding of local communities, strong networks and a genuine interest in showcasing artistic talent.

 

This small venue has an established recognition for doing this, but now it is in a new and shared guise, so you will need to be adept at working alongside other users. For the full details see the full tender document.

 

Chickenshed KC

From spring 2011 there will be a series community and performing arts workshops for children aged 7 - 16 years as well as promotional and fundrasing events at different locations in the borough in the lead up to the September 2011 launch of Chickenshed KC.  This exciting new, inclusive theatre project that will have something for everyone living in Kensington & Chelsea is currently based at Chelsea Academy.

Everyday Magic

The Company of  Tellers and Players continue to deliver the Everyday Magic project to seven schools in the borough.  From September 2010 special projects include; 'Days in the Lives of Victorian Children', 'Castles in Fact and Fantasy' and 'Singing a Story'.

Portobello Pop Up Cinema

Portobello Pop Up Cinema is a newly established, non profit Microplex (as opposed to Multiplex) cinema and arts venue situated under the Westway flyover where it crosses the Portobello Road / Acklam Road junction – an area steeped in a long and iconic history of creative subculture.

Admission to the cinema is on a pay-what-you-can-afford basis, with a suggested donation of £4.   The Portobello PopUp team welcomes ideas for screenings from artists, filmmakers, N.G.O’s and voluntary groups.

Bonfire night and fireworks display

Each year Westway Development Trust hold their annual Giant Bonfire and Firework display in Maxilla Gardens, W10 6NQ. The event consists of a giant bonfire with Guys of all shapes and sizes made by children from local schools, stilt walkers, fire jugglers, plus a massive fireworks display. Everyone is welcome and admission is free. Entrance from St Marks Road alongside the Westway flyover.
